My experience in lockdown (so far).

My experience in lockdown.

Hello Blogger, this blog will be about what my bubble has been doing in lockdown.

My family's Bubble

My family's bubble may be a bit different from most peoples. A reason why I say that is because, first, we are isolating over two houses and our bubble has changed from 6 to 7 people. Recently my aunt has had a baby and my mum is helping her out a bit. The last reason my family's bubble is different from others is because my family is isolating with my grandma, one of my aunts and my new cousin.

Cinnamon and apricot buns

Over the past two weeks we have made cinnamon and apricot buns. We have made these buns to keep our baking up and we make the diner two times a week to keep up our cooking. We have made buns twice so far, one set was just cinnamon buns the other is cinnamon and apricot buns. We forgot to take photos the first time but we have photos for the cinnamon and apricot buns. I personaly preferd the plain cinnamon buns.

Zoom classes

Over the past few weeks I have attended lots of zoom metings for Ballet and Karate. I have mostly been using zoom for ballet because our first karate session was last saturday, but my first ballet session was quite soon after lockdown began. I think that the karate works better beacuse of the travel reqiuerments for ballet. My mum is a ballet techer so she teachers some of the classes which means when she is teaching my class it s intresting how it is done.

  1. Hi Nicholas, thanks for explaining about your bubble. Congratulations on having a new baby cousin, that is so wonderful. It's awesome to hear that you've been using technology to connect to your learning, with Karate and Ballet. Maybe you could list some of the positives and negatives of learning in this way? Unfortunately, I am unable to see any of the photographs in your post - could you possibly change the settings in some way, or download them to pop them into your blog, so that we don't have to link to your drive?
All the teachers are looking forward to seeing everyone today in the online sessions - have fun catching up with your Te Waka Ako team. :-)

  2. Kia ora Nicholas, you've made me hungry with all the talk of buns! I'm impressed that you can do karate over Zoom! Just be careful you don't kick your Chromebook! I look forward to seeing the pictures and reading your next blog posts!

  3. Hi Ncholas. Like your bubble, mine is a little different too. Our daughter and grandaughter are living in our bubble with us, because our son in law works at a hospital with covid 19 patients. He want's his family safe and away from the risk of being infected by him. Your cinnamon and apricot buns sound delicious!
What other delicious treats will you be making? I'd love to hear about what you do when you do karate over Zoom.

  4. How exciting to have a new cousin! There are quite a few babies being born at the moment. I am very impressed that you are doing karate and ballet via Zoom. I think your buns sound amazing, but you might need to bring one of each to class for me to try one day so I can see which one tastes best :)
